We are happy to say that Pastor Jim (Jaime) Shedd has been attending Edgewater Baptist Church since 1975. He was the first pastor of the Spanish-language congregation at Edgewater, now Iglesia Bautista El Calvario, and then ministered with Moody Bible Institute's Department of Broadcasting, while serving as a layman at Edgewater. In 1989, he left Moody to become our pastor.
Pastor Jim and his wife, Jan, were married in 1975. They have four adult children--Andy, Miriam, Sarah and Esteban. Pastor Jim was born in Bolivia, South America. His father was a pastor in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and during Jim's teenage years, in Santiago, Chile. It was in Bolivia that Jim was led to faith in Christ by his mother, and in Chile, he was baptized by his Dad who was his pastor at the time.
Pastor Jim received formal training for ministry at the Moody Bible Institute and at Wheaton College where he attended both as an undergraduate and graduate student, and at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, all in the greater Chicago area.
Pastor Jim says that his prayer for Edgewater Baptist Church is that God's Word be preached and taught in truth so that people may hear and respond to God's call and know the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
